Every tool on IMG369 runs in your browser, on your device, using your hardware. That shapes what the tools can and cannot do, and this page says where the limits are. It is specific on purpose: a general "results may vary" tells you nothing useful.

Tools that estimate rather than measure

Four tools produce a best guess, not a measurement, and it is worth knowing where each one breaks down:

• AI Image Upscaler. The model invents detail that was never in your photo. It is reconstructing what a sharper version plausibly looked like, not recovering real information. It does well on genuinely low-resolution images and poorly on blurred or heavily compressed ones. Do not treat upscaled output as evidence of anything.
• Autocrop. It reads the colour of the top-left corner pixel and trims inward while rows and columns stay close to it. That works on a scanner margin or a letterbox bar. It will not find the edge of a subject on a textured or gradient background, and a photo whose corner is not part of the border will be cropped wrongly.
• Colour Palette Generator. Colours are grouped into buckets and the most common buckets are averaged. The result is representative, not a designer's palette, and two visually distinct shades can land in one bucket.
• Image to Text (OCR). Accuracy depends heavily on the source. Clean, high-contrast, horizontal printed text reads well. Handwriting, low contrast, unusual fonts, rotated text and photographs of screens are all unreliable. Always read the output against the original before relying on it.

The Background Remover, Background Blur, Face Blur and Passport Photo Maker also use machine learning models. They are good but not perfect, particularly around hair, fine edges, glasses, and faces that are partly turned away or in poor light. Check the result before you use it. In particular, do not rely on Face Blur alone to anonymise a photograph: it blurs the faces it detects, and it can miss one.

Passport and visa photos

The Passport Photo Maker sizes your photo to the pixel dimensions commonly required for the country you pick and places it on a plain background. It cannot judge the things a human reviewer will: expression, head tilt, eye position, glare on glasses, shadows, or whether the background is acceptable to that specific authority. Requirements also change. Check your government's current published guidance before submitting, and treat a rejected application as a real possibility. We cannot refund or influence any official decision.

Metadata tools

The EXIF Remover strips the metadata block from the file you download. It does not and cannot affect copies of that image that already exist elsewhere, and it is not a guarantee of anonymity — an image can identify its source through its content, or through traces left by the camera or editing software. The EXIF Viewer shows the fields it recognises, not necessarily every field present. The DPI Changer rewrites the print-resolution metadata; whether a particular print shop, stock site or layout program honours it is up to that software.

Conversion, quality and file handling

Converting between formats is lossy in one direction: JPEG discards data permanently, and converting a PNG with transparency to JPEG replaces transparency with a solid colour. Compression is a trade against quality by design. Some tools scale very large images down before processing to keep your browser responsive, and where that happens the tool shows you the dimensions it worked with. Always keep your original file.

Third-party code and models

Several tools load open-source libraries and machine learning models from public content delivery networks, including jsDelivr, IMG.LY and Google. Your images are never sent to them — the traffic is program code and model weights coming to you — but the tools depend on those services being reachable. If a CDN is down or blocked on your network, the affected tool will not run. See our Privacy Policy for what those requests involve.
